Why is Tony Stewart's future at JGR in question?
I just saw it on ESPN, it was on the bottomline and it said breaking news and then Tony Stewart's future at JGR is in question. Anyone know what happened?

Tony has a Competitive Equipment clause in his contract. The clause allows Tony an out if he is dissatisfied with the equipment or the equipment manufacturer supplied by JGR.
JGR's late season change to Toyota came at a time that was too late for the Chevrolet teams like RCR or DEI to get a competitive team and sponsor together for Tony for 08.
Gibbs talked Tony into staying for the 08 season, trying Toyota with hopes he would resign Tony. Tony had no where to go that was a quality situation for him at that time.
Meanwhile RCR was getting all their ducks in order to offer a team worthy of Smoke's talent. All that is in place now.
Those that do not believe do not understand contract extensions in this Toyota climate. Tony could have resigned and made at least 5 million more in 08 and 09. The new contract would not start in 2010. No one that was staying would refuse to renegotiate and lose all that money.
