Is there a chance I have Tetanus?
Last week, eight days ago. I trod on a broken bottle in the street which sliced through the side of my leather shoe and about 1cm into my foot. The glass was in a puddle of rain water on the road, I guess it would have traces of dirt and saliva on which I hear is where C. Tetani is most commonly found. I did not have my last tetanus shot so I do not think I am up to date with my immunisation. Recently I have been having head aches, although not really, really bad. I have not had any signs of a stiff jaw or anything like that but I have had stiff neck and back pains. Today I had what I would describe as muscle movements, I'm not completely sure whether they were spasms... It caused my leg to some what shake whilst I was sitting down and when pressure was applied to it. I had been in the gym for about half an hour, earlier on in the day so I'm not sure whether I should just put it down to because I had been exercising? Do you think I am just being paranoid or could I be at risk?
It's very unlikely, why not make an appointment with your doctor just to be on the safe side. You can also schedule you over due tetanus booster too while you are there.It's more likely that you are thinking about it a little too much and are imagining symptoms (not calling you crazy, i am the worst for doing this, it's human nature).
